The Vigneview Verdict
“Ooohs” and “Aaaahs” echoed around my dining room when I recently poured a glass of Aldi’s Specially Selected Sparkling Shiraz for some friends. I think they were expecting a relatively clear glass of sparkling bliss, but to their utter surprise, a redish-purple bubbly delight filled their flutes! I love it when a glass of wine shocks the senses. In my opinion, it’s simply another excuse to explore, understand and enjoy a new glass of wine.
Aldi’s Specially Selected Sparkling Shiraz is so popular that it often sells out online. Additionally, it won a Bronze award at the 2021 International Wine Challenge. At only £6.99 a bottle, this Sparkling Shiraz is definitely one to buy, just in time for the holidays.

You may not be too familiar with sparkling red wines. This bottle of Aldi’s Specially Selected Sparkling Shiraz is filled with ripe black fruit notes, some sweet baking spice as well as a bit of dark chocolate on the finish. The tannins are soft and the finish is savoury sweet. You’ll definitely be pouring another glass!
Food Pairing
As this wine is medium-dry, you can easily enjoy it on its own or with something slightly sweet. Pair this Aldi’s Specially Selected Sparkling Shiraz with Beauvale cheese and my Christmas Spiced Crackers, as well as a bit of a holiday celebration that will delight even the most discerning palates!

Cheers! x
